KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Basketball team entered Thanksgiving break on a high note as the Wolves defeated Cazenovia College 41-34 at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center on Tuesday.

It was a slow start by both teams as a layup by Lauren Hill was the only points for either team in the first six minutes of play. The Wildcats would tie the game at 4-4, but the Wolves scored the final seven points of the quarter to lead 11-4 after one.

Keuka College continued their run to 11 unanswered points, building a double-digit lead over the Wildcats. The defense for the Wolves stepped up in the frame, forcing eight Wildcat turnovers leading to nine Keuka College points. The Green and Gold led 23-14 at the half.

The Wildcats cut into the Keuka College lead in the third. The Wolves would first extend their advantage to 10, 28-18, with 5:19 left in the quarter. But Cazenovia responded with a seven-point run to make it a three-point game. Keuka College would score the final four points of the quarter, all from McGwin, and lead by seven, 32-25 going into the final quarter.

Cazenovia College would not go away. A three by the Wildcats made it a two-point difference, 34-32, with 5:20 left to play. A free throw by Sydney Brown got Keuka back on the board and a three by Mary Cotter widened the margin back to six. Brown capped the game with a three-pointer as the Wolves defeated the Wildcats 41-34.
