KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Field Hockey team defeated Wells College 8-0 in a non-conference game Thursday night at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex.
Makaela Mills led Keuka College (2-9) with two goals and two assists. Also with two goals in the game were
Erin Patterson and
Kirstin Billings.
Anna Dewey and
Alexis Dodge rounded out the scoring for the Wolves.
Keuka College 8 vs. Wells College 0
The Wolves controlled the play in the opening quarter as the Green and Gold held an 8-0 edge in shots.
Makaela Mills scored the opener for the Wolves midway through the first. Keuka led 1-0 after the first quarter.
Wells College had early pressure in the second, but then the Wolves settled back into control. Mills found
Erin Patterson for a goal and that was quickly followed by another goal from Patterson. The run continued for Keuka College.
Anna Dewey scored with five minutes left to give Keuka a 4-0 lead at the break.
The third quarter was close between the Wolves and the Express. The Green and Gold would hold a 6-2 edge in shots and a 4-2 advantage in corners. However, the Wolves would be held off the board until the final minute.
Laine Rogers sent a ball in the air across the front of the goal and was hit out of midair by
Kirstin Billings to make it 5-0 going into the final quarter.
Keuka College closed out the impressive performance with three more goals in the fourth quarter.

- Jordan Nichols made four saves for the shutout. The sophomore now has 101 saves on the season, tying for fifth-most in a year in program history
