Skidmore Stops Keuka College 3-0

OSWEGO, N.Y. — The Keuka College Men's Soccer team lost on Sunday to Skidmore College 3-0 in their final game of a tournament at Oswego State.

Freshman Cory Cangemi made a career-high nine saves in goal for Keuka College (0-3).

The Thoroughbreds came charging out of the gate and attacked Keuka early on Sunday. The Wolves were outshot 12-1 in the opening half, but Cangemi stood tall. The freshman turned away all six of the Skidmore efforts on goal as the game was scoreless at the half.

Skidmore College continued to attack and broke through in the 51st minute for the 1-0 lead. They later struck quickly, scoring two goals in a 24-second span to widen the margin to 3-0. The Wolves were unable to generate any opportunities on Sunday. The Green and Gold got just one shot off after falling behind and the effort from Jonathan Ceysaire was blocked as Skidmore defeated the Wolves 3-0.

  • All three meetings have come in the last three seasons for Keuka College
  • The nine saves for Cangemi were the most for the Wolves since Stephen Cowulich made nine for Keuka against SUNY Cobleskill in September 2019

Up Next for Keuka College: After facing Hobart and Skidmore in two of their opening three games, Keuka College will stay in the Liberty League for a midweek test at RIT. The Wolves and the Tigers will kickoff Wednesday night in Rochester.
