Box Score LA PLUME, Pa. — The Keuka College Field Hockey team scored 52 seconds into the game at Keystone College on Friday night and never looked back as the Wolves defeated the Giants 3-0.
Skylar Gilmore scored the opening goal for Keuka College (1-1). McKenzie Hoyt and Makaela Mills added tallies on the way to the victory. Senior Megan Makowski made 12 saves in goal for the shutout.

The Wolves attacked right away on Friday. Alyssa Muszak drove the end line and centered the ball to Skylar Gilmore. Gilmore one-timed the ball home on the first shot of the game for the 1-0 lead. Keystone quickly answered two minutes later but Makowski was there for a pair of saves. The hosts had another flurry late in the first but Makowski stood tall with three straight saves to keep it 1-0 after one.
Keystone continued to press the Wolves as the Giants outshot Keuka College 4-1 in the second. However, only one of their attempts was on goal and Makowski was there again for the save. Keuka carried a 1-0 lead into halftime.
Makowski was called upon for a pair of saves in the opening 30 seconds of the second half, but the Wolves would settle into a spell of possession. Keuka College began to up their shot count and have some penalty corner opportunities. The pressure would pay off as Emily Stallone found McKenzie Hoyt for the goal and a 2-0 advantage. Keuka College would pressure again later in the corner and again the pressure paid off. The Wolves were awarded a penalty stroke and Makaela Mills converted as the Wolves led 3-0 after three quarters.
Keystone College would outshoot Keuka 5-2 in the fourth, but only two of their shots were on goal. Makowski saw both of them away as the senior preserved the shutout and the Wolves defeated the Giants 3-0.

Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves will remain on the road for their next two games. Keuka College will have a midweek test at Union College on Wednesday. The Green and Gold will then open Empire 8 play, traveling to Houghton College to face the Highlanders on Saturday.
