It was a slow start on the offensive end for both teams. Alfred University built a 6-0 lead over the opening six minutes of play. Amelia Poole got the Wolves on the board with a three with 3:47 left in the first. Alfred would lead 8-7 after one.

The Saxons would play from ahead the entire second quarter. Keuka College cut it to two at 6:13, but Alfred responded with two straight threes to widen the margin to eight, the largest of the half. Keuka fought back to narrow the margin. Sara Gardner made a late layup for the Wolves, but Alfred would lead 22-19 at the half.

The Wolves continued to battle in the third quarter. A personal 7-0 run by Sydney Bloom midway through the third to tie the game at 28-28, but the Saxons immediately answered with a three to regain the lead. That three by Alfred sparked a run of their own as they scored 13 unanswered to take a 41-28 lead into the final quarter.

The Green and Gold shot 50% for three in the fourth quarter in an attempt to make a comeback, but it was not enough. Alfred saw their lead hold to the end as the Saxons defeated the Wolves 51-42.
