Keuka College 3 vs. Oswego State 1

For the second game in a row, Keuka College wasted no time getting on the scoreboard. After a flurry in front of the Lakers goal, the ball was thought to be cleared to safety to the right of the goal. McKenzie Hoyt collected it and hit it hard back into the middle of the circle. Kirstin Billings got ball-side of her defender and redirected the ball high and into to goal to give Keuka College the 1-0 lead three minutes into the game.

Oswego State would control possession for most of the second quarter. The Lakers had a 4-1 advantage in shots and a 3-1 edge in corners. In the final minutes, the Wolves got a chance as Skylar Gilmore weaved through the Oswego defense and into the circle. She was tripped up by a loose stick and awarded a penalty stroke. The senior attempted a shot to the left post by the Lakers keeper did the splits to kick the ball aside and keep the game at a one-goal game at halftime.

As the Lakers attempted to push forward and tie the game, Keuka College took advantage on the counter. The Wolves had one opportunity as Alyssa Muszak charged down on goal, but the Lakers keeper charged to break up the play. A minute later, it was Skylar Gilmore attacking on the break. The goalie charged again and this time Gilore hit it to her left to a wide-open Kirstin Billings on the left. The freshman one-timed the ball into the net for her second of the game to give Keuka College a 2-0 lead.

The Wolves added a third goal against the run as McKenzie Hoyt found the back of the cage. Oswego pressed the Wolves throughout the fourth with nine shots and seven corners. However, only one would get past Makowski as the senior made six saves in the fourth and Keuka College defeated Oswego State 3-1.
