Box Score KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — Senior Seth Spurgeon scored a goal in each half as Keuka College defeated St. John Fisher College 2-1 in men's soccer on Wednesday.
It was the first two-goal game in the senior's career. Freshman keeper Cory Cangemi made six saves in goal for Keuka College (3-10-2, 1-5-1 Empire 8) in the win.

Wednesday opened as a back and forth game with both teams getting chances in the opening half. Shots were close to level with Fisher holding the 6-4 edge. Cangemi stood tall in goal for the Wolves, making three saves, and being strong off his line on other attempts by the Cardinals. The difference in the half came in the 36th minute as Benjamin McKeown took a free kick for Keuka. The graduate student sent the ball into the box and found the head of Seth Spurgeon who nodded it inside the right post for the 1-0 lead.
Keuka College took the ball to start the second half and wasted little time. Connor Thorpe crossed the ball from the left into the box to Spurgeon. The senior scored 55 seconds into the half to give the Wolves a 2-0 advantage. St. John Fisher attempted to answer minutes later as a shot was ripped from the top of the box, but Cory Cangemi dove to his left to make the save. The Cardinals drew one back in the 76th, but Keuka College was able to withstand the pressure. In total, St. John Fisher had 11 shots and 12 corners in the second half, but the Keuka defense held them at just one goal as the Wolves continued on for the 2-1 conference victory.
