Men's Basketball Defeats SUNY Cobleskill 77-70

KEUKA PARK, N.Y.— The Keuka College Men's Basketball team earned a 77-70 victory over SUNY Cobleskill on Wednesday in a North Eastern Athletic Conference game at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center.

Keuka College (9-10, 6-6 NEAC) was led by Trevor Powell. The senior had one of the best games of his career with 24 points and a career-high 18 rebounds. James Barnes was also in double figures for the Wolves with 18 points.

Keuka College 77 vs. SUNY Cobleskill 70

Trevor Powell knocked down a three as the Wolves took a lead early on Wednesday. In total, Keuka led for 15 minutes in the first half. The Fighting Tigers would cut into the lead, but the Wolves had an answer, typically by Powell. The senior recorded a double-double in the first half alone with 12 points and 11 rebounds. In the final minutes, Cobleskill would tie the game. The Wolves regained the advantage and David Oliveras hit a three with less than a minute left in the half to give Keuka a 34-30 lead at the break.

Six straight for Keuka College, capped by a three by Matthew Ciezki gave Keuka College a 10-point lead minutes into the second. SUNY Cobleskill would keep the game within reach, but never made it a one-possession game. Keuka College pushed their lead to a game-high 11 at 69-58 with 4:47 left to play. The Wolves would hold on down the stretch as they defeated the Fighting Tigers 77-70.

Up Next for Keuka College: Wednesday was the first of a five-game homestand for Keuka College. The string of games at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center will continue this weekend as the Wolves host Gallaudet University on Saturday and then Lancaster Bible College on Sunday.
