Keuka College Sweeps Conference Matches

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Keuka College Men's Volleyball swept their opponents on Sunday in a North Eastern Athletic Conference Crossover Weekend at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center.

The Green and Gold defeated Penn St.-Altoona in the opening match in straight sets. They then followed that up with a three set victory over Wilson College.

Keuka College (7-4, 4-2 NEAC) will be on the road next weekend as they have three matches in New Jersey. They will face Kean on Friday and then square off with Staten Island and New Jersey City University on Saturday.

Keuka pulled out a tight first set 27-25 against Altoona to start the day. Keuka led by 10 points in the second set before the Lions put a run together. However a kill by Aaron Brill  secured the set 25-21. Keuka controlled with final set with 13 kills against just two errors, defeated Altoona 25-11 and taking the match 3-0.

Connor Hinman led the Green and Gold with 17 kills. He also had a team-high eight digs. Brill was also in double figures with 11 kills in the match. The sophomore did not commit an error in 17 attempts. Chris Corcoran had 19 assists and Spencer Avery had 18 assists in the victory.

Prior to the match against Wilson, Keuka College honored their seniors as a part of their Parents and Senior Day celebration. Keuka swept the Phoenix in straight sets. They closed out the match with 12 kills in the third set, hitting at 50%.

Senior Manny Colon and Aaron Rydzynski both had six kills to lead Keuka. The total also marked new career-highs for the seniors. Colon also led the team with four block assists, also a career-high. Overall, Keuka had 10 blocks against the Phoenix. Alex Riley and Colin Steele each added four kills in the victory. Avery and Corcoran both finished with 13 assists to pace Keuka's offense. Corcoran also led the team with six digs.
