Box Score CAZENOVIA, N.Y. – The Keuka College Men's Basketball team was defeated by Cazenovia College by the score of 68-60 on Wednesday night.
Keuka College (8-13, 5-10 NEAC) will conclude their season this weekend as they host SUNY Poly on Friday and SUNY Cobleskill on Saturday.
James Outlawled Keuka with a career-high 19 points. Freshman Devin Cooper recorded his first career double-double with 11 points and a career-high 13 rebounds. Greg Tyler was also in double figures with 10 points in the loss.
Back-to-Back threes by Cazenovia got the Wildcats out fast against Keuka College. They would grow their lead to 12-3 early. The Wildcats pushed their lead to double-digits, 21-11, but Devin Cooper quickly answered with a layup with seven minutes left in the half. The Green and Gold closed on a 10-3 run, capped by a Casey Williams layup to narrow the Wildcat advantage going into the locker rooms to 31-29.
Keuka applied the pressure in the second half. The game would stay within a possession for the first part of the second half. The Wildcats grew their lead to five points, 44-39, halfway through the half. James Outlaw helped take the lead away. He hit a jumper and on the next possession made a three pointer to tie the game 44-44, the first tie of the game for Keuka. Cazenovia answered, but so did Keuka. The Green and Gold would tie the game at 46-46 and 48-48 with seven minutes left to play. The Wildcats went on an 8-0 run to push the lead back out. Following a pair of free throws by Casey Williams, Cazenovia made two more baskets to regain a 10-point margin, 60-50. Following a James Outlaw layup with 33 seconds left, the margin was four, 64-60, but Cazenovia made their free throws at the end and continued onto the 68-60 victory.
