Late Comeback Sparks Overtime Victory for Keuka College

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – Cliff Stevens made a three pointer with four seconds left to force overtime on Sunday. Keuka College would outscore Bryn AthenCollege 18-7 in the extra frame to defeat the Lions 81-70 in a North Eastern Athletic Conference matchup.

Keuka College (6-7, 3-4 NEAC) will take to the road next weekend. They travel to nationally ranked Lancaster Bible College on Friday night and then take on Penn St.-Berks in Reading, Pa. on Saturday.

Casey Williams led Keuka with 24 points in the game. Dylan Doupe had his second consecutive double-double, scoring 14 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Also in double-digits for Keuka was Miles Boyer, Greg Tyler, and James Outlaw. Each scored 11 points for the Green and Gold. It was the first time five Keuka players were in double figures since the 2012-13 season.

Quick three pointers by Casey Williams and Greg Tyler on Keuka's first two shots of the game and Keuka was out and running against the Lions. Bryn Athyn would respond and take a 10-8 lead six minutes into the game. Another three by Tyler gave the Green and Gold the lead right back and sparked a 10-0 run for Keuka. The Lions would close the margin down to two points, 24-22, with 6:25 left, but Keuka pushed the lead back out and carried a 37-30 lead into the halftime break.

The Lions came out strong in the second half. Within four minutes, they tied the game and a three pointer with 15 minutes left gave Bryn Athyn the lead. The game would go back and forth for a majority of half. A three pointer by Bryn Athyn with 6:30 left to play gave the Lions their largest lead of the game, 54-48. Keuka would begin to foul the Lions in an attempt to stay in the game. The plan worked. Casey Williams hit a three with 49 seconds left to make it a two-point game, 58-56. After a pair of free throws, Williams hit a driving layup to get the margin back to two points. The Lions went 1-2 from the line and Dylan Doupe made a layup with 13 seconds left to make it a 61-60 game. Keuka quickly fouled and Bryn Athyn made both free throws with 11 seconds left. Keuka got the ball up the floor quickly. Casey Williams found Cliff Stevens in the in the right corner. The sophomore hit the three to tie the game at 63-63 and force overtime.

Overtime was all Keuka. The Green and Gold went on a 10-0 run over three minutes of play in the extra frame. Keuka shot 83.3% from the field and went 7-8 from the free throw line as they outscored Bryn Athyn 18-7 in overtime to win the game 81-70.
