Box Score KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Keuka College Men's Basketball team fell to North Division leading Morrisville State on Wednesday by the score of 89-75.
The Green and Gold will remain at home this weekend as they host Penn St.-Abington and Bryn Athyn in a pair of North Eastern Athletic Conference games.
A trio of players led Keuka (4-7, 1-4 NEAC) in scoring on Wednesday evening. Greg Tyler, Dylan Doupe, and Casey Williams each scored 13 points on the night. It was a new career-high for Doupe. He also added five rebounds. Tyler led the team with six boards.
Morrisville State (8-4, 3-0 NEAC) used the long ball, making 11 three pointers. They also went 16-18 from the free throw line. Keuka outshot the Mustangs from the field 51.9% to 50%.
The Mustangs got out to a fast start and scored the first five points against Keuka. The Green and Gold were able to keep the game within single digits through the first part of the opening half. Morrisville St. grew their lead to 14 points, 30-16, with 10 minutes left in the first, but Keuka responded. They went on a 9-0 run, capped by a Greg Tyler three pointer to make it a five point game, 30-25. The Mustangs had an answer of their own, however, and would carry a 54-36 lead into the locker rooms at halftime.
The Green and Gold would attempt to stay in the game. A jumper by Jelani Fontanez made the score 61-49 eight minutes into the second half. The 12 point margin would be as close as Keuka would make it. Morrisville State had a quick answer with a three pointer and they continued onto the 89-75 victory.
