In order to qualify for the 2015 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) postseason tournament, the Keuka College men's volleyball team needed a win over Medaille College, as well as some help from other NEAC schools.

A three-set loss to Medaille (17-12, 13-1 NEAC) eliminated the Wolfpack (15-9, 8-6) from postseason consideration.

With the win, Medaille clinched the regular-season championship and will host the NEAC tournament. D'Youville College (13-10, 11-3) earned the number two seed, while Keuka, SUNY Polytechnic (15-10, 8-6) and Wells College (11-17, 8-6) all finished tied for the final two playoff spots.

SUNY Poly and Wells advanced into the four-team tournament thanks to a better record in matches amongst the three schools. Wells finished 3-1 while SUNY Poly was 2-2 and Keuka 1-3.

Against Medaille, junior Connor Hinman (Lethbridge, Alberta/Catholic Central) had five kills with three digs, classmate Tom Campbell (Penfield, N.Y./Penfield) added five kills with four blocks, and freshman Aaron Brill (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif./Palos Verdes) recorded five kills in the loss.

Freshman Tim Jackson (Farmington, N.Y./Victor) added four blocks with three kills as Keuka fell 25-17, 25-22 and 25-17.

Freshman Chris Corcoran (Big Flats, N.Y./Horseheads) handed out 21 assists, junior Cooper Lyon (Lethbridge, Alberta/Catholic Central) had eight digs, and classmate Josh Makin (Lethbridge, Alberta/Catholic Central) contributed three kills with two blocks in the loss.

Medaille was led by Nate Schneider (12 kills, four digs), Calvin Crosby (seven kills, five blocks)  and David Riggsby (31 assists, 4 aces, 3 digs, 3 blocks).

Keuka trailed 13-12 midway through the opening set before Medaille won 12 of the next 17 points to take a 1-0 lead.

The Mavericks won the first five points in the second set, but the Wolfpack won 11 of the next 16 points to even the set on a kill from Jackson. Hinman and Jackson each had two kills during the run to spark the comeback.

Medaille won six of the next seven points and led 17-12, but Makin hit a kill to spark the Green and Gold on a 6-2 run to close within 19-18 on an attack error.

But the Mavericks claimed five of the next six points to bring about set point up 24-19. Keuka won three straight points to pull within 24-22, but Jordan James hit a kill to give Medaille the second set.

The Mavericks led wire-to-wire in the third set to complete the sweep.

Keuka closes out the season hosting New Jersey City University at 6 p.m. Friday night.
