Box Score MARCY, N.Y. – The Keuka College Men's Basketball team fell to the SUNY Poly Wildcats 59-53 on Sunday in a North Eastern Athletic Conference matchup.
Keuka College now stands at 0-3 in conference play and are 1-6 overall on the season. They will play their final game of the fall semester on Wednesday as they host SUNY ESF at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center at 7pm.
Casey Williams led Keuka with 14 points. Trevor Powell added 11 and Miles Boyer had a team-high seven rebounds.
The two teams opened up slowly on Sunday, with scoring at a premium. The two teams traded points and leads early only. After a pair of free throws by Miles Boyer halfway through the first half, Keuka trailed by only two, 15-13. The Green and Gold was able to tie the game a minute later, but Poly went on a small 6-1 run to reestablish their lead. Keuka narrowed the margin to one, but Poly made a jumper with five seconds left in the half to carry a 27-24 advantage into the locker rooms.
Casey Williams attacked the basket quickly to start the second half, scoring 10 seconds in. Keuka was able to dwindle the lead down to within a basket multiple times, but the Wildcats kept having an answer to maintain the lead. Halfway through the half, SUNY Poly started a 7-0 to grow their lead to double-digits. Keuka put together a late rally. They outscored SUNY Poly 12-4 over the final four minutes of the game, but it was not enough as Keuka would fall to the Wildcats 59-53.
