Box Score 2 Freshman Tim Jackson (Farmington, N.Y./Victor) earned All-Tournament team honors during the season-opening Johnson & Wales (R.I.) University Tip-Off Tournament, but the Wolfpack were swept in two matches Saturday in Providence, R.I.
The Wolfpack (2-2) fell to Lasell College 25-22, 25-15 and 25-18 before falling to host Johnson & Wales by scores of 25-16, 25-18 and 25-20 on day two of the tournament.
Jackson compiled four kills in both of Saturday's matches and finished with 24 kills in the four matches to earn all-tournament team honors as the Wolfpack placed third in the six-team tournament.
Against Lasell, junior Connor Hinman (Lethbridge, Alberta/Catholic Central) added 7 kills with 6 digs and 2 aces, and freshman Aaron Brill (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif./Palos Verdes) had six kills with two digs.
Junior Tom Campbell (Penfield, N.Y./Penfield) had four kills and classmate Josh Makin (Lethbridge, Alberta/Catholic Central) added four kills with three blocks in the loss to Lasell (4-0), which claimed the team championship.
Freshman Chris Corcoran (Big Flats, N.Y./Horseheads) handed out 19 assists with 3 digs and 2 blocks, and junior Cooper Lyon (Lethbridge, Alberta/Catholic Central) tallied 12 digs in the loss.
Taking on Johnson & Wales, Hinman recorded 7 digs with 6 kills and 2 aces, Campbell added five kills with two blocks, and Brill and Lyon each added eight digs.
Corcoran handed out 10 assists and sophomore Spencer Avery (Hamburg, N.Y./Frontier) had eight assists with two digs in the loss to Johnson & Wales (6-1).
Keuka hosts Penn State-Behrend at 12:30 p.m. Sunday in the Wolfpack's home opener.
