Box Score The Keuka College men's basketball team suffered a 74-51 loss to Bryn Athyn (Pa.) College Sunday afternoon in Bryn Athyn, Pa.
Senior Trevor Healey (Wethersfield, Conn./Wethersfield) scored 16 points and collected 10 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the year for the Wolfpack (7-5, 4-2 NEAC).
But Bryn Athyn (3-10, 3-3) started fast and shot 58.6 percent during a 48-point first half to sink the Wolfpack.
Senior Adam Starks (Wellsville, N.Y./Andover) scored 13 points and made a pair of three-pointers, and junior James Outlaw (New York, N.Y./St. Thomas More) added a season-high six points for the Green and Gold.
Senior Jared Wagner (Pittsford, N.Y./McQuaid) added seven rebounds, but the Wolfpack shot just 32.7 percent from the floor (18 of 55) against the Lions.
Bryn Athyn led 8-1 and held Keuka without a basket until Healey made a layup 3:39 into the contest to trim the deficit to 8-3.
Healey scored six of Keuka's first seven points and hit a layup to pull the Green and Gold within 15-7 with 12:53 remaining, but the Lions responded with a 13-0 run and led 28-7 on a pair of free throws from Austin Nyekan halfway through the first half.
Starks scored five points (three-pointer and two free throws), Healey added four points and freshman Cliff Stevens (Ballston Spa, N.Y./Ballston Spa) made a layup as the Wolfpack trailed 38-18 with 2:05 left in the first.
But Bryn Athyn hit back-to-back '3s' as part of a 10-2 run to close the half as the Lions took a 48-20 lead into halftime. Bryn Athyn shot 58.6 percent from the field (17 of 29) during the first, and made 70 percent of its '3s' (7 of 10).
The Green and Gold were held to 27.6 percent shooting (8 of 29) and made 14.3 percent of its '3s' (1 of 7) in the opening half.
Keuka outscored Bryn Athyn 31-26 in the second half. Deion Boyer scored a game-high 23 points and Joseph Kehoe added 16 points for Bryn Athyn.
After four straight road games to open the second semester, Keuka's 2015 home opener is against Lancaster Bible College at 8 p.m. Friday night.
