Box Score Junior Trevor Healey (Wethersfield, CT/Wethersfield) posted his fourth double-double and scored a career-high 32 points, but the Keuka College men's basketball team fell to Cazenovia College 86-76 Wednesday night in Cazenovia, N.Y.
Healey shot 71 percent (12 of 17) from the floor and collected 12 rebounds and sophomore Casey Williams (Syracuse, NY/Jamesville-DeWitt) scored 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds, but it wasn't enough for the Storm (5-11, 3-8 NEAC) to overcome the Wildcats (5-11, 3-7).
Junior Tyler Hixson (Shortsville, NY/Red Jacket) added 13 points with six rebounds and classmate Brandon Franklin (DeWitt, NY/Jamesville-DeWitt) chipped in with 8 points, 6 assists and 2 rebounds for Keuka, which lost despite shooting 55 percent (28 of 51), the second-best shooting performance of the year.
Healey scored 20 or more points for the fifth time this year, including three of the last four games. He scored 16 points in both halves while junior Adam Starks (Wellsville, NY/Andover) added 7 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists for Keuka.
Cazenovia forced Keuka into 21 turnovers while connecting on 82 percent of its free throws (23 of 28).
The Storm led for much of the second half, including 59-58 on a jumper from Williams with 10:20 remaining, but the Wildcats went on a 12-4 run to seize a 70-63 lead with 6:16 left.
Healey knocked down a jumper to pull Keuka within 74-70 with 3:04 remaining, but Cazenovia hit its last six free throws to pull away.
DeMarcus Bernard scored 23 points and Malik Adair-Mountain added 22 points and eight rebounds for the Wildcats.
The return home to face Penn State-Abington at 1 p.m. Saturday and Gallaudet at 1 p.m. Sunday.
