Men's Volleyball Goes 0-3 at Behrend Invitational

The Keuka College men's volleyball team traveled to Erie, Pa. for the Penn State-Behrend Invitational, and the Storm dropped all three of their matches during the two-day tournament.

Junior Devin Lesch (San Diego, CA/El Cajon Valley) posted his second double-double of the year with 11 kills and 10 total blocks while freshman Tom Campbell (Penfield, NY/Penfield) posted a season-high 10 kills, but the Storm fell to Lancaster Bible College in five sets in the day's first match.

Keuka won the first set, 28-26, dropped the next two by scores of 25-18 and 25-20, captured the fourth set 25-19 before falling in the decisive fifth set, 15-11.

In the nightcap, Keuka was swept by Thiel College, falling 25-11, 25-21 and 25-18.

On Sunday, the Storm took on the host Nittany Lions, and Keuka (5-15) fell by scores of 25-12, 25-19 and 25-20.

Against the Chargers, Campbell had 10 kills and 4 blocks and sophomore Manny Fernandez (Tacoma, WA/Spanaway) added 8 digs, 7 kills and 4 blocks for the Storm.

Freshman Christopher Mooring (Chesapeake, Va./Hickory) added 8 digs, 7 assisted blocks and 2 kills while freshman Josh Makin (Lethbridge, Alberta/Catholic Central) added 14 digs and nine kills for the Green and Gold. Sophomore Ryan Kelly (Clifton Springs, NY/Midlakes) added 36 assists and 11 digs for the Storm.

Facing Thiel, Lesch had nine assisted blocks while Fernandez and Mooring each added five kills for the Green and Gold. Mooring added six digs and four blocks, Makin had 9 digs, 2 blocks and 2 kills and Kelly added 14 assists, 4 digs and 3 blocks for Keuka. Freshman Connor Hinman (Lethbridge, Alberta/Catholic Central) chipped in with 11 digs for the Storm.

Thiel had 46 kills and a .218 attack percentage while limiting Keuka to 15 kills and a negative attack percentage in the sweep.

On Sunday, Makin had seven kills and four digs, Campbell added six kills and three digs while Lesch added 5 kills, 2 blocks and 2 digs in the loss to the Nittany Lions. Fernandez and Hinman each had a team-most 12 digs while Kelly handed out 23 assists to go with six digs for the Green and Gold.

The Storm return home for two matches this week. On Wednesday night, Keuka will host Hilbert College at 7 p.m. on Senior Night before welcoming Thiel College to campus for a 6 p.m. clash Friday night
