Box Score

Sophomore Erica Pendrak (Utica, NY/New York Mills) equaled her season-high with 16 points and shot 63.6 percent from the floor, but the Keuka College women's basketball team suffered a 64-44 non-conference loss at SUNY Geneseo Tuesday night.

The loss snapped a 12-game win streak for Keuka (18-3). Geneseo improved to 17-6 with the win.

Pendrak connected on 7 of 11 shots, but no other member of the Storm reached double-figures besides Pendrak.

Junior Danielle Gravel (Sidney, NY/Sidney) scored all nine of her points in the second half and added five rebounds and classmate Jessica Bandrowski (Center Moriches, NY/Center Moriches) added  7 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals for the Green and Gold.

Senior Mariah Mouzon (Elmira, NY/Elmira Free Academy) scored six points and sits 12 points away from becoming the 10th student-athlete in school history with 1,000 career points.

Keuka shot only 29.5 percent (18-for-61) while Geneseo connected on 43.1 percent of its shots (28-for-65). The Blue Knights also out-rebounded the Storm 57-28, including 21-8 on the offensive glass.

Keuka's attack struggled in the first half, connecting on just 25 percent of its shots (7-for-28). Pendrak scored 11 first-half points and Bandrowski and junior Casey Chamberlain (Perry, NY/Perry) each added baskets, but no other member of the Green and Gold scored in the opening half as Geneseo took a 27-15 lead into halftime.

A jumper from Pendrak tied the score at two early on, but the Blue Knights responded with a 13-0 run. Pendrak snapped the drought with a scoop lay-in, and added a fast-break basket off a steal from Bandrowski to slice the deficit to 17-6.

The Green and Gold held Geneseo scoreless over a five minute stretch, but the Blue Knights played equally tough defense, and Keuka was held scoreless for more than seven minutes.

A fast-break layup from Bandrowski snapped the drought and pulled Keuka within 23-10 with 4:20 left to play in the half.

Chamberlain knifed through the lane and hit the lay-in to trim the deficit to 27-12, and when Pendrak swished a '3′ from the left wing it pulled the Storm within 27-15.

Gravel knocked down a triple and Mouzon made a jumper to slice the deficit to 31-20, and following a missed shot, Bandrowski swished a '3' to cut the margin to 10, 33-23.

Dana Cohan answered with a '3′ for a 36-25 lead, but Mouzon added a jumper and Bandrowski went 2-for-2 at the line to trim the lead to 36-27 with 14:15 left.

Pendrak swished a '3′ from the right wing to pull Keuka within 36-30. The '3′ capped a 7-0 run by Keuka and forced Geneseo to call a timeout.

Geneseo answered with a 9-0 run of its own and led 45-30 with 11 minutes left. Sophomore Brittany Hadley (Jasper, NY/Jasper-Troupsburg) knocked down a jumper from the wing to snap the run.

Hadley added a jumper and Mouzon made a layup to pull the within 49-36, but Keuka couldn't pull closer than 12 points down the stretch and fell to 3-2 in non-conference games during the 2012-13 season.

Allison McKenna led Geneseo with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Melissa Graham had 16 points and 15 rebounds.

Keuka closes out the regular season with a 1 p.m. game against Wells College on Saturday. Keuka defeated Wells 73-56 on Jan. 16.
