Box Score

The Keuka College's men's soccer team allowed an early goal just 30 seconds into its road game against North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) rival Cazenovia College Saturday afternoon, and the Storm couldn't recover from the early deficit, falling to the Wildcats 2-1.

Cazenovia (4-5-1, 3-0-1 NEAC0 scored just 31 seconds in when a bounding ball landed between two Storm defenders and created a Cazenovia breakaway, which was promptly converted into a goal. The game remained 1-0 until the 39th minute, when the Wildcats extended their lead to 2-0 when a shot sailed high over the head of junior goalie Derek Condon (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) and into the back of the net.

The Storm's persistent attack generated good scoring opportunities, but Keuka wasn't able to break through with a goal until sophomore Nate Schreiber (Hilton, NY/Hilton) scored in the 57th minute. Schreiber received a well-placed pass at the back post and headed in his second goal of the season to slice the deficit to 2-1, but Keuka, which peppered Cazenovia with shots from that point on, failed to net the equalizer.

Condon finished with nine saves for Keuka, which returns to action with a 7 p.m. nonconference game Tuesday night at Alfred University.
