After a three-year hiatus from competition, the Keuka College Cheer Team made an exciting and inspiring return to the mat this weekend at the Upstate Collegiate Championship, hosted by Elmira College on Sunday, March 22, 2026.
Competing in the All-Girl Intermediate Division, the Wolves faced off against a talented squad from SUNY Cortland and proudly secured a second-place finish in their first competition in years.
From the opening motion to the final pose, Keuka's athletes delivered a performance defined by determination, resilience, and team unity. The routine showcased strong stunting, sharp motions, and growing technical skill, all reflecting the team's commitment to rebuilding the program and elevating its competitive presence.
"This performance represents so much more than a placement," said Head Coach
Shelly Baker. "It's about the dedication these athletes have shown to bringing competitive cheer back to Keuka College. They've set the foundation, and the future is incredibly bright."
The judges' scoresheet highlighted the team's strengths while also identifying areas for continued growth—fueling the team's motivation as they look ahead to future competitions. For many athletes, this marked their first time competing at the collegiate level, making the accomplishment even more meaningful.
Beyond the mat, the energy and pride surrounding the team were undeniable. Supporters, alumni, and members of the Keuka community celebrated the return of a program that embodies school spirit, athleticism, and leadership.
As the Wolves continue to build momentum, the program is actively seeking driven, passionate student-athletes to join its growing roster. With a renewed competitive focus, a supportive team culture, and the opportunity to be part of something on the rise, there has never been a better time to become part of Keuka College Cheer.
