KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Department of Athletics has announced the 2025 inductees to the Dr. Arthur F. Kirk, Jr. Athletics Hall of Fame.
The three-person induction class includes Matt Selden '04, Maggie Bonafede Gutierrez '14, and Paige Golden Judge '14.
The induction, part of the annual Keuka College Green & Gold Celebration Weekend, will be held on Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Green & Gold Annual Celebration Dinner inside the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center on the College campus.
Matt Selden '04 – Baseball
Matt Selden was a pitcher for the Green and Gold in the early years of the program, when the team was an independent. His first season, he started seven games for Keuka College, leading the Green and Gold with 42 innings pitched and 28 strikeouts. Selden pitched five complete games in his first season, setting a program record, only to break it himself two years later.
After missing the 2001 season due to back surgery, Selden returned in 2002 and had one of the best seasons in team history. He set school records with six wins and 65.1 innings pitched; records that stood for over 20 years. Keuka College made it to North Eastern Athletic Conference championship game that season. The conference also recognized Selden as the Pitcher of the Year. He remains the only player in program history to earn that honor.
Selden continued to pitch well in his final season as Keuka College was the 2003 NEAC Regular Season Champions. He earned his second First Team All-Conference selection, again leading the team with 50.2 innings pitched. Selden graduated as the career leader in every pitching category and remains in the top ten in most. He is now tied for the career lead in wins with 11 and complete games with 13, and his 158 career innings pitched is second-most in program history. Matt Selden graduated from Keuka College with a degree in Management.
Maggie Bonafede Gutierrez '14 – Women's Lacrosse
Maggie Bonafede is the career points leader for the Keuka College Women's Lacrosse team. The Churchville native broke onto the scene with 19 goals and 16 assists in her first season at Keuka College while starting all 13 games. Bonafede earned Second Team All-Conference honors as a first-year player and repeated the second team honors in her second season, increasing her totals to 26 goals and 46 assists. Her 72 total points led the Green and Gold in 2012, and the 46 assists set a new program record, topping the previous mark by 20 assists.
The numbers jumped for Bonafede in her junior season. She set program records with 69 assists and 98 points in her third season, earning her First Team All-North Eastern Athletic Conference honors. While those numbers did not seem repeatable, Bonafede continued to rewrite the record books in her senior year, setting new career highs and program records with 71 assists and 102 total points.
Bonafede remains the career leader at Keuka College with 202 assists and 307 total points. During her time with the Green and Gold, Bonafede won the NEAC in 2011, 2013, and 2014. She earned Tournament MVP in 2011 and 2013. The 2013 championship gave Keuka College an automatic berth to their first NCAA Division III Tournament. A second tournament appearance came a year later. They remain the only two berths in program history. Bonafede was also a standout in the classroom. She earned NEAC Scholar-Athlete honors all four years. Bonafede graduated from Keuka College Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Unified Childhood/Special Education.
Paige Golden Judge '14 – Women's Volleyball
While Maggie Bonafede was tearing up the lacrosse field, Paige Golden was dominating the volleyball court for Keuka College. Golden remains the career leader in kills with 1,087 and is one of only three student-athletes in program history to be a member of the 1,000-kill club. She came to Keuka College from Kent, N.Y., and Albion High School. Golden was on the court a lot for the Wolves in her first season, but primarily from the service line as she hit 41 aces, second-most on the team.
Her offensive role progressed in her second season. Golden went from averaging 0.48 kills per set in her first season to 2.91 kills per set in her second. In total, Golden had 285 kills to lead the team. She added a team-leading 45 aces and ranked second on the team with 431 digs. Golden earned her first all-conference honor in 2011, being named to the first team.
Production continued to increase for Golden throughout her remaining two seasons. She hit 372 kills as a junior and topped that mark with 383 in her senior season. She was also among the team leaders in aces and digs in each of the two seasons. Golden capped her career with two more First Team All-Conference honors. She remains in the top ten for aces in a career and ranks second in digs with 1,462 over her four years. Golden graduated from Keuka College with a degree in Biology while minoring in American Sign Language and Chemistry.
