KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Keuka College Women's Soccer team had a strong home opener, defeating SUNY Cobleskill 8-0 on Sunday at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex.

The Wolves (3-3, 2-1 NEAC) will return to the field on Saturday, September 24 as they travel to Morrisville State College to face the Mustangs in a North Eastern Athletic Conference match at 12pm.

Keuka got an early break minutes in as Nicole Browe slipped Emily McGuigan past the Cobleskill defenders twice, but the Fighting Tigers keeper was up to the task both times. The Wolves would continue to pressure the Cobleskill goal and it paid off. In the 13th minute off of a short corner, Keuka College sent the cross into the box and it was deflected in by a Cobleskill defender for the own goal and a 1-0 Wolves lead. Keuka College continued to possess the ball and threaten the goal. Sarah Hartman fought for a loose ball and was taken down in the box for a penalty. Allison Ariola went high and left on the kick to give Keuka a 2-0 advantage halfway through the first. The Wolves struck quickly for their third goal. Abbey David sent a free kick into the box from the left side. Sarah Hartman headed it over the Cobleskill keeper for her first goal of the season. The Wolves extended the lead with 15 minutes left in half. A cross was deflected by the keeper, but landed to the foot of Shannon Sprague on the far post. The sophomore's goal made it 4-0 Keuka College. The Green and Gold struck for a final time in the half as Abbey David freed Allison Ariola with a long through ball. Ariola slotted the ball to the left post for the 5-0 advantage. Keuka College would carry that lead into the halftime break.

Keuka College continued to dictate the pace in the second half. They had 31 shots in the half and held SUNY Cobleskill without a shot for the game. Marisa deFay, Sierra Barker, and Jordan Fredell all scored in the half for Keuka as they would continue onto the 8-0 victory.
