Personal Records Fall at Hamilton College

CLINTON, N.Y. — 13 personal records were broken on Saturday as the Keuka College Cross Country teams competed at Hamilton College in the 2019 Hamilton College Cross Country Invitational.

The meet was run on the Hamilton College Golf Course. The Women's team placed fifth out of seven teams with each runner completing the 5K within 23 minutes. The Men's team did not enter a team score on Saturday.

Women's Race – 5K

Lead Wolf: Kaylie DeSorbo ran in her first race since August and led the way for the Green and Gold. The sophomore set a new career-best with a 22:14.2 time. She finished the 5K race in 40th place.

Men's Race – 8K

Lead Wolf: The Men's Cross Country team was led by Braxton Knapp. Knapp set a new personal record, running the 8K course in 32:06.0, shaving 50 seconds off of his previous best. He placed 74th in the meet on Saturday.

KC Notes:

  • It was the first time that Keuka College competed in the Hamilton College Cross Country Invitational
  • The Wolves ran in a pack as the top five scoring runners for Keuka finished between 42 and 49 place
  • Kaitlin Snipas shaved three and a half minutes off of her personal record in the 5K. Aubrey O'Connor also had a big jump in the career-best 5K, taking nearly two minutes off of her previous best
  • In total, nine members of the Women's Cross Country team set new career-bests
  • Joshua Kenna and Zachary Abbott both improved their personal record in the 8K by a near two minutes each
  • Daniel Barry set a new career-best by 1.8 seconds

Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves have one more race to prepare for the North Eastern Athletic Conference Championship. Keuka College will run in the Gettysburg Invitational on Saturday, October 19.
