Women’s Volleyball Falls to Wells in NEAC Opener

AURORA, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Volleyball team was swept by Wells College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference match on Wednesday night.

Keuka College (3-8, 0-1 NEAC) was led offensively by Grace Allen with 11 kills. Delaney Yorks added 17 assists and libero Ericka Carlson finished with 12 digs in the loss.

The Express jumped out to an early 9-4 lead over the Wolves are carried the margin though out the first set. A service error by Keuka ended the opener with the Express winning 25-18.

Wells continued the momentum in the second as they scored the first seven points of the set. The Wolves attack struggled to get rolling as they had seven kills and seven errors in the frame. A kill by Wells gave the Express a 25-15 victory and a 2-0 lead in the match.

The Wolves continued to fight, holding an early 7-5 lead over Wells in the third. The Express would rally, take the lead back, and then go on a nine-point run as they built a 21-11 lead over the Wolves. Wells closed out the sweep, winning the third set 25-16.

Up Next for Keuka College: The Green and Gold return home and host a tri-match this Saturday at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center. The day will begin with Keuka College facing SUNY Cobleskill in a North Eastern Athletic Conference match. The Wolves will then have a match off as Cobleskill will face Houghton College. Keuka will close the day with a non-conference match against Houghton.
