KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Volleyball team dropped their opening match of the day to Rowan University, but bounced back to defeat Lasell University in the Keuka College Invitational at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center.
Keuka College (2-2) was swept by Rowan to begin the day. However, in the last match of the day, the Wolves defeated Lasell in straight sets.
Rowan University 3 at Keuka College 0 – 25-20, 25-22, 25-12
After the two teams traded points early, Rowan went on a run to push their lead out to 14-4 over the Wolves. The Green and Gold continued to fight in the match. Lillian Mueller went on a service run, cutting the Profs lead to five points, however Rowan held on to take the first set 25-20.
The second set between Keuka and Rowan was the tightest one of the season thus far for Keuka. In total, the set was tied 14 times and there were nine lead changes. The set would be tied 20-20, but the Profs pushed points late to win the second 25-22 and take a 2-0 lead in the match.
Rowan University closed it out in the third set. The Profs had seven aces in the frame against the Wolves as they won the set 25-12 to sweep the match.
Keuka College 3 vs. Lasell University 0 – 25-18, 25-16, 25-18
The Wolves and the Lasers play a close first set with nine lead changes. With the score 19-17 in favor of Keuka, Erika Shepard stepped the service line and went on a run. She left the line with a 24-18 lead. A Lasell error ended it with Keuka winning the first set.
Keuka College got ahead early in the second and never looked back. Another serve run aided the attack, this time by Ericka Carlson. Keuka won five points on her serve for the early 9-2 lead. The Wolves would not trail in the set as Keuka won the second 25-16.
Following a tight start, the Wolves created separation in the middle of the third. Grace Allen served for seven straight Keuka College points to create the margin. Allen later finished it with a kill as Keuka College won the third and swept the match.
Lead Wolf: Junior transfer Erika Shepard had her best match in her young Keuka College career. The California native led the Green and Gold with eight kills and also added four aces against the Lasers.

- Delaney Yorks broke her career-high with 17 assists against Rowan. She then broke that mark with 23 in the win over Lasell

Up Next for Keuka College: The Green and Gold travel to Washington, D.C. next weekend to play in the Guetle Invitational, hosted by Catholic University. The weekend will open for the Wolves on Friday against Pitt.-Greensburg. Keuka will then face Wesley College and the host Cardinals on Saturday.
