Morrisville State 3 at Keuka College 0 – 25-19, 25-16, 25-15

Morrisville State came out strong in the opening set. Morrisville had a match-high 12 kills in the frame. Keuka College fought to stay in the set. The Wolves put together a late rally but were unable to overcome the Mustangs as Morrisville won the opening set 25-19.

After an even start to the second set, Morrisville State put together a run to create separation. Following six unanswered points, the Mustangs led 20-9. A kill by Kelsie Allen ended the run but Morrisville continued onto the 25-16 second set victory.

The Mustangs carried that momentum into the third set as they established a 7-1 lead early against the Wolves. The Green and Gold cut into the lead. The Wolves cut the margin to two at 14-12, but that would be as close as Keuka would make it. Morrisville State won the final five points of the match as the Mustangs took the third set 25-15, sweeping the match 3-0.

KC Notes:

  • Keuka College remains ahead of Morrisville State 17-6 in the all-time series, but the Mustangs have now won four matches in a row
  • It was just the second time in 10 matches that Morrisville has defeated Keuka at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center
  • Kelsie Allen finished with five kills in the match. Her and Grace Allen were the only two players for Keuka College to post a positive hitting percentage

Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves now have time to rest and prepare for their next conference match. Keuka College will return to the floor a week from Saturday as they play in a North Eastern Athletic Conference Crossover at Wells College on October 20.
