POTSDAM, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Volleyball team dropped a pair of games on Friday in the North Country Invitational at Clarkson University.

Keuka College (0-2) lost their opening match to the host Golden Knights in straight sets. Keuka then lost to the United States Coast Guard Academy in three sets to close the night.

Clarkson University 3 vs. Keuka College 0 – 25-10, 25-12, 25-11

The Golden Knights jumped on top of the Wolves in first set. Keuka had just four kills against 10 errors as they dropped the opening set 25-10. The Wolves had an improved second set with seven kills, but Clarkson would have their best set of the match. The hosts had 16 kills in the frame, winning the second set 25-12. The Golden Knights would close out the sweep with a 25-11 win in the third and final set.

United States Coast Guard Academy 3 vs. Keuka College 0 – 25-8, 25-17, 25-16

Coast Guard took an early lead in the match as they had 13 kills in the opening set and Keuka countered with two. The Bears took the opening frame 25-8. Keuka College played a very close second set. The Wolves rallied to narrow the margin to one at 15-16, but the Coast Guard responded. The Bears converted nine of the next 11 points to win the second set 25-17. On the serve of Alyssa Rex, Keuka College scored the first eight points of the third set. After the two teams traded points, Coast Guard scored nine straight to take a 10-9 lead over Keuka. The set would be tied 15-15, but the Coast Guard once again went on a run. The Bears scored 10 of the final 11 points of the match to win the third set 25-16, sweeping the match.

Lead Wolf: Alyssa Rex finished with nine assists, seven digs, and a pair of aces and kills in the match with the Bears.

Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves will conclude the North Country Invitational on Saturday with a pair of matches. The Green and Gold will open against SUNY Geneseo and then close the tournament with a match against St. Lawrence University.
