Wolves Sweep Wildcats in Women’s Volleyball

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Keuka College Women's Volleyball team defeated Cazenovia College in three sets in a North Eastern Athletic Conference match at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center.

Katelyn Warren had 10 kills to lead Keuka College (6-14, 3-4 NEAC). Grace Allen added nine kills in the win. The offense worked through junior setter Alyssa Rex, who finished with 26 assists.

Keuka College 3 (25, 25, 25) vs. Cazenovia College 0 (14, 15, 19)

The Wolves scored the first seven points of the match to stake an early lead in the first. Keuka led by as many as 11 in the set, taking the first 25-14.

Keuka College once again took a big early lead over the Wildcats. A kill by Janessa Vaadi gave the Wolves a 16-4 lead in the second. The Green and Gold took a 2-0 lead in the match, winning the second set 25-15.

The third set was the most competitive of the match. The Wolves stepped up their play with a match-high 15 kills as a team. Cazenovia was able to narrow the Keuka lead to three points, 20-17, but the Wolves responded. A kills by Katelyn Warren closed the third set at 25-19 in favor of the Wolves as Keuka College defeated Cazenovia College 3-0.

  • Keuka College has faced Cazenovia College more than any other opponent in program history. Wednesday was the 50th meeting between the two schools with Keuka College holding a 46-4 record all-time
  • Keuka College has won 44 straight matches against Cazenovia
  • Grace Allen set a new career-high with nine kills
  • The Wolves had 15 aces in the match with Alyssa Rex leading the way with four aces

Coming up for Keuka College: The Wolves host a tri-match on Sunday, October 22 at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center. Keuka College will host the University of Rochester at 11am and then play SUNY Canton at 3pm. Prior to the 3pm match, Keuka College will honor the families of the 2017 Women's Volleyball team as well as the graduating class of 2018 in their annual Parents' and Senior Day ceremony.
