LATHAM, N.Y. — Five members of the Keuka College Women's Soccer team was honored on Thursday, being named apart of the 2019 North Eastern Athletic Conference Women's Soccer All-Conference teams.
Being named to the first team for Keuka College was senior Emily McGuigan as well as sophomores Grace Wolf and Jessica Pegg. Sophomore Julia Oglesby earned a second team selection and senior Vera Freda was named to the third team.
Emily McGuigan completed the personal sweep, being named First Team All-North Eastern Athletic Conference all four years at Keuka College. She had another impressive season for the Green and Gold, leading the team with 11 goals and 26 total points. During the season, McGuigan cemented herself in the Keuka College record books by breaking the career records for goals and points. Going into the final four weekend for the NEAC Tournament, McGuigan has found the back of the net 63 times in her career and totaled 149 points. She ranks sixth amongst active players in NCAA Division III for goals in a career.
After making just one start as a freshman, Grace Wolf has stepped into a starting role for the Wolves and excelled. The sophomore has started every game this season in the midfield for Keuka College. She scored five goals for the Wolves, including a pair of game-winners. Her overtime winner at Lycoming continued the Keuka College win streak as the Wolves went on to win a school-record 13 games in a row.
Anchoring the back for Keuka College was sophomore goalkeeper Jessica Pegg. She has started all 35 games in her career and has allowed fewer goals than games played over her tenure. She tied her freshman season with 13 wins this year in goal which leads the NEAC. She also leads the NEAC with a 0.93 goals against average. She repeated as a first team selection. For her career, Pegg already ranks in the top three in school history in wins.
For the second year in a row, Julia Oglesby earned a Second Team All-Conference selection. The sophomore increased her assists from her freshman season, helping with six goals this year. She also found the back of the net nine times on the year. Oglesby favored multi-goal games, recording three of the during the season, including a three goal, three assist performance in a victory over Wells College.
Rounding out the selections for Keuka College was senior Vera Freda. A two-sport athlete, Freda was already recognized as an all-conference performer in women's lacrosse last season and now has the honor for soccer. She started every game in the midfield for Keuka College while scoring a career-high four goals on the season. The senior netted the lone goal in a 1-0 victory over Morrisville State back in September.
The Keuka College Women's Soccer team will continue their season this weekend in the North Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament. The Wolves earned a two seed and will face the three seed Penn St.-Harrisburg on Saturday afternoon. The tournament will be hosted by Penn St.-Berks.
