KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Soccer team lost in the North Eastern Athletic Conference Championship Game to Penn St.-Berks by the score of 4-0 at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex.
Freshman goalkeeper Jessica Pegg made 10 saves in goal for Keuka College (13-4-1).
Penn St.-Berks 4 at Keuka College 0 – NEAC Championship
The Nittany Lions opened the game on the front foot and possessed the ball for most of the half. The Nittany Lions got an early chance in the 16th minute with a free kick, but it was blocked by the Keuka College wall. Berks opened the scoring in the 30th minute and added a second goal minutes before halftime. In the final seconds of the half, Keuka College had a chance as Emily McGuigan went on a breakaway. The keeper for Berks came off her line to challenge and got just enough of the ball to dispossess McGuigan and the game went to halftime with the Nittany Lions leading 2-0.
Penn St.-Berks added two more goals in the first 20 minutes of the second half. The Wolves were able to generate a pair of late chances against the Nittany Lions goal. In the 74th minute, Morgan Fuller raced down the left wing and sent a ball into the goal. The cross found Emily McGuigan. The junior hit a volley from the six-yard box at the near post, but the ball went just wide. Minutes later, Fuller was able to get on the end of a cross and hit a header on goal. Her attempt was turned away by a diving effort by the Berks keeper to preserve the shutout. Penn St.-Berks would defeat Keuka College 4-0 on Sunday.
