Women’s Soccer Breaks Records in Win over Gallaudet

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Keuka College scored a school record, nine goals to defeat the Bison of Gallaudet University, 9-1 on Saturday in Washington, D.C.

The Wolves (5-3, 4-1 in the NEAC) next take on the Phoenix of Wilson College on Sunday afternoon on the road. Due to field conditions at Wilson College, the game will be played at Mercersburg Academy.

Keuka assisted on six of their nine goals, and broke a school record for points in a game. Freshman Emily McGuigan, broke the record for goals in a game, by tallying seven goals against the Bison. Sierra Barker had two assists for the green and gold, and Mckenna Pettit chipped in two goals.

Barker found McGuigan for the opening goal, mid-way through the first half. The Wolves' tandem connected again, three minutes later, and helped Keuka gain a 2-0 lead. The Green and Gold aggressively finished off the first half, and increased their lead to 5-0.

The Wolves continued their dominance after the halftime break, and secured the victory by scoring four goals in the opening twelve minutes of the second half. Brittany Mallach started the second half scoring surge with an early goal, and she was followed a couple of minutes later by a high arching shot from McGuigan. Jordan Fredell found Mckenna Pettit, a few minutes later, and Pettit chipped in a shot to the top right corner. McGuigan added two more goals to put the final score at 9-1.
