KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Soccer team lost on Wednesday night to the University of Rochester by the score of 3-0.
The Yellowjackets (7-5-1) got on the board early, scoring in the sixth minute off of a corner kick. They would add two more goals in the next five minutes of play for the fast 3-0 lead. Keuka's defense would strengthen. Despite being outshot 23-0 in the first half, they did not allow another goal as the lead at halftime for Rochester remained at 3-0.
Keuka continued to withstand the Yellowjacket attack in the second half. They limited the quality scoring opportunities on net and held Rochester scoreless for the final 45 minutes of play. Keuka was unable to get much of an offensive attack going as they only managed one shot in the game, compared to 35 by Rochester.
Maeve Fletcher set a new career-high in goal for Keuka, making 13 saves on the night.
Keuka College will travel to Penn St.-Abington this Saturday for a North Eastern Athletic Conference matchup with the Nittany Lions. Kickoff is set for 3pm.
