GRAND LAKE, Colo. — The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association named Keuka College as one of the IWLCA Zag Sports Division III Academic Honor Squads.
In addition, the IWLCA named Ashley Appell to the 2017 Zag Sports Division III Academic Honor Roll.
The 2017 Women's Lacrosse team posted a 3.03 team grade point average during the past academic year. Seven Wolves were named North Eastern Athletic Conference Scholar-Athlete. To be named an Academic Honor Squad, a team must have a 3.00 GPA or higher for the 2016-17 academic year. Keuka College was one of only two teams from the North Eastern Athletic Conference to be honored by the IWLCA and Zag Sports.
The 2017 season for Ashley Appell was cut short with a season-ending injury in the first game of the season for Keuka College. However that did not stop her in the classroom. The forensic psychology major posted a 3.80 grade point average last year. Appell, who also is a member of the Women's Soccer team, will be graduating early from Keuka College next December.
The IWLCA and Zag Sports honored 532 Division III student-athletes on their honor roll. To be eligible, a student-athlete needs to be a junior, senior, or graduate student, and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or greater.
