MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Keuka College Women's Lacrosse team lost a North Eastern Athletic Conference game at Morrisville State College on Saturday by the score of 15-6.

Keuka College (2-4, 1-1 NEAC) had six different players scored in the loss. Freshman Vera Freda finished with a three point game, scoring a goal and assisting on two others. Ally Thayer made 10 saves in goal for Keuka.

The Wolves got out to a quick lead, as Elizabeth Sherman scored three minutes into the game. However the Mustangs responded with a pair of goals to take a 2-1 lead. Senior Sydney Forshay scored to tie the game up at 2-2. It was the senior's first goal of the season as she returned from injury. Once again, Morrisville State had a response as the Mustangs scored four unanswered to lead 6-2 at the half. Keuka opened the half strong with a pair of goals, drawing the margin to two, 6-4, but the Mustangs scored three more to add to their lead. It would be as close as the Wolves would make it. Morrisville State went on to defeat Keuka College 15-6 on Saturday.

  • Despite the loss, Keuka College still owns a 9-7 advantage in the series with Morrisville State
  • The Wolves are also 5-3 against the Mustangs in conference play
  • The matchup between the Wolves and Mustangs have been one of the most competitive in the North Eastern Athletic Conference. The two teams have met four times in the conference championship game
  • Sophomore Kendall Neuberger had four caused turnovers on the day against Morrisville State. She now has 37 in her career, moving into the top 10 in program history

Coming up for Keuka College: The Wolves take on Cazenovia College on Sunday afternoon at Cazenovia. The Wildcats snapped a 10 game losing streak to Keuka College with an 8-6 victory over the Wolves last season. Overall, Keuka College leads the series 13-3.
