BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Keuka College Women's Lacrosse team lost to Medaille College 13-12 on Sunday in a North Eastern Athletic Conference game at All High Stadium in Buffalo, N.Y.
Keuka College (3-9, 1-5 NEAC) will be off until next Saturday when they travel to Bryn Athyn College to face the Lions in an NEAC game.
Sydney Forshay led the Green and Gold on Sunday with four goals and a pair of assists. Adding a pair of goals for Keuka was juniors Maura Gosson and Morgan Bruno. Gosson added an assists for a three point game. Kendall Neuberger finished with a goal and two assists for three points as well. Also with goals for Keuka was Vanessa Tsarevich, Ashley Appell, and Elizabeth Sherman.
Medaille College got out to a fast 2-0 lead over Keuka College. The Green and Gold answered and tied the game at 3-3. Tsarevich scored and Forshay followed that with a goal 17 seconds later. Medaille pushed their lead back to 5-3, but Keuka College closed the half on a 5-1 run. Morgan Bruno scored on a free position shot with two seconds left in the half to give the Green and Gold an 8-6 lead going into the break.
Bruno led the second off with a goal, giving Keuka a 9-6 lead. The Mavericks went on a 5-0 run to take an 11-9 lead. After Sherman stopped the run with a goal, the Mavericks answered to regain the two-goal margin. With less than five minutes left, Sydney Forshay and Maura Gosson scored a pair of goals 26 seconds apart to level the game at 12-12. With 1:34 left, Medaille scored for the 13-12 lead. Keuka won the ensuing draw control, but were unable to get a shot off as they fell to Medaille 13-12 on Sunday.
