Women’s Lacrosse Falls at Home to Morrisville State

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Keuka College Women's Lacrosse team lost to North Eastern Athletic Conference foe Morrisville State College 10-9 on Wednesday night.

Keuka College (3-7, 1-3 NEAC) will take to the road this weekend as they face SUNY Poly on Saturday and Medaille College on Sunday.

Kendall Neuberger had a five-point game for Keuka. The freshman scored three goals and assisted on two more. Also with three goals on the night was Sydney Forshay. Samantha Staino netted two goals and Morgan Bruno finished with one, rounding out the scoring for Keuka.

Morrisville State got out to a fast lead, scoring 26 seconds into the game. Keuka College answered with a goal by Forshay to tie the game at 1-1. Once again, however, the Mustangs showed a quick offense. They took the lead right back 19 seconds following Forshay's goal. That sparked a 3-0 run for Morrisville to take a 4-1 lead. Keuka College would outscore Morrisville State 4-1 to close the half. Morgan Bruno capped it with a goal with 15 seconds left to send the teams into halftime tied 5-5.

The Mustangs took the lead back in the opening minutes, but Samantha Staino had the answer 42 seconds later. Morgan Bruno set up Staino for the goal to tie the game at 6-6. Morrisville State netted a pair of goals to take a 8-6 lead halfway through the second. Kendall Neuberger scored a pair for Keuka to draw the game level again at 8-8. 33 seconds after Neuberger's goal, Morrisville scored to regain the lead. It was a lead they would not relinquish. Sydney Forshay scored to make it a one-goal game, 10-9, with 7:19 left to play. Keuka College would be unable to score in the final minutes as they fell to Morrisville State by the score of 10-9.
