Women’s Lacrosse Drops Conference Opener to Cazenovia

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Keuka College Women's Lacrosse team lost to Cazenovia College on Saturday by the score of 8-6 at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex.

The next scheduled game for Keuka College (2-4, 0-1 NEAC) against Morrisville State on Sunday has been postponed. Keuka will return to action on Wednesday as they host Elmira College.

Maura Gosson led Keuka with three goals in the game. Also adding goals for the Green and Gold was Vanessa Tsarevich, Morgan Bruno, and Kendall Neuberger.

Keuka College took an early lead on Saturday. Gabrielle Moshier set up Maura Gosson for the first goal of the game. Morgan Bruno followed that up with a goal off of a free position shot to give the Green and Gold a 2-0 lead halfway through the first half. Cazenovia would close the half on a 3-0 run, however, and lead 3-2 at halftime.

The Wildcats added to their lead with the first goal of the second half. Keuka responded with a goal by Vanessa Tsarevich. The Wildcats had an answer, but so did Keuka. Sydney Forshay set up Maura Gosson for a goal to make it 5-4 Cazenovia. It was Forshay's second assist of the game. Cazenovia scored three goals in under three minutes to make it an 8-4 game. Keuka got a pair of goals late, but it was not enough as Keuka fell to Cazenovia 8-6.
