Keuka College Downed by Hartwick in Women’s Lacrosse

ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Keuka College Women's Lacrosse team fell on Wednesday night to hosts Hartwick College 16-9 in a non-conference matchup.

Keuka College (2-3) will have a week and a half off to prepare for their North Eastern Athletic Conference opener against Cazenovia College. They will face the Wildcats on April 2 at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex.

Maura Gosson led Keuka with three goals in the game. Sydney Forshay and Kendall Neuberger each scored two goals in the loss. Also adding goals for the Green and Gold was Vanessa Tsarevich and Ashley Appell. Alyna Thayer made eight saves in goal for Keuka.

Keuka fell behind early to the Hawks. Sydney Forshay got them on the board with a free position goal on the man up to make it 2-1 Hartwick. The Hawks responded with four straight goals. Kendall Neuberger and Ashley Appell got on the board for Keuka, but they trailed 7-3 at halftime.

The Hawks came out of the break and scored four of the first five goals to further widen the margin to 11-4. The Green and Gold did not back down. They scored three straight goals to make it 11-6. Gosson netted a pair and Neuberger scored her second of the game. Hartwick had an answer with a 3-0 run of their own. Vanessa Tsarevich scored and Maura Gosson completed the hat trick in the final minutes, but it was not enough as Keuka would fall to Hartwick 16-9.
