KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Keuka College Women's Lacrosse team defeated the Hilbert College Hawks on Friday at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex
Keuka College (2-2) will next be on the road on Wednesday as they travel to Oneonta, N.Y. to take on Hartwick College.
Sydney Forshay and Kendall Neuberger paced the offense for Keuka. Forshay scored 7 goals and added a pair of assists against the Hawks. Her seven goals ranked her second in school history for goals in a game and nine points was third all-time. Forshay also became the ninth player in program history to surpass 100 total points in her career.
Neuberger, a freshman, had her best game of her young Keuka College with six goals on the afternoon. Also with goals for Keuka was Samantha Staino with four and Vanessa Tsarevich, Ashley Appell, and Maura Gosson. It was the first career goal for Tsarevich. Gabrielle Moshier had a career-best three assists in the win. Maura Gosson added a pair of assists for Keuka, giving her three total points on the afternoon.
Keuka got out to an early lead over the Hawks and did not look back. Neuberger opened the scoring for the Green and Gold off a pass from Forshay. The assist gave the senior her 100th career point. The senior would then go on to score a pair of goals herself and Ashley Appell added a tally before the Hawks were able to get on the board with just under 10 minutes left in the half. Vanessa Tsarevich had the response for Keuka with her first career goal. Kendall Neuberger scored a pair and Samantha Staino added a goal for Keuka as they scored three in the final 1:14 to take an 8-1 lead into halftime.
The Keuka offense did not stop in the second half. They scored the first eight goals of the second half to take a comfortable lead over the Hawks. Hilbert added a second goal, but Keuka responded with four more on their way to the 20-2 victory.
