Senior golfer Megan Geariety was named to the 2017 Women's Golf Sportswoman of the Year Team by the Empire 8 Conference.
The Empire 8 Conference names a Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year Team in all sponsored sports. They recognized one student-athlete from each of the teams competing in that sport. The Empire 8 emphasizes that "Competing with Honor and Integrity" is an essential component of a student athlete's experience in conjunction with an institution's educational mission. The honorees have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportswomen.
Megan Geariety is in her fourth season with the Keuka College Women's Golf team. She has been a scholar-athlete and has excelled on the course. She has one tournament win in her carer and nine top 10 finishes. Geariety is majoring in Unified Childhood Education and Special Education with a concentration in Mathematics. She has balanced competing in golf this fall with her student teaching assignment.
The Keuka College Women's Golf team closed their fall season with a fifth place finish at the Empire 8 Championship. It was the first conference championship tournament that Keuka College competed in after being an independent since the program began. The Wolves will return to action in April as they start up their spring season.
