Big Second Quarter Lifts Keuka College to Victory

COBLESKILL, N.Y. — After trailing following the opening 10 minutes, Keuka College outscored SUNY Cobleskill 22-10 in the second to pace a 66-47 North Eastern Athletic Conference victory on Sunday.

Riley Record led Keuka College (5-4, 10-1 NEAC) with 15 points. Sam Laranjo finished with 12 points and seven assists and Sarah Tyler added 12 points as well.

The Fighting Tigers jumped out to an early lead over the Wolves as the starting five for Keuka combined for just 1-10 from the floor in the first 10 minutes. After the first, SUNY Cobleskill led 13-9.

The Green and Golf flipped the script in the second as they scored the first six points to take the lead. Keuka College shot 53.3% from the floor in the second had held the Fighting Tigers to just four field goals in the frame as Keuka led 31-23 at the half.

After Cobleskill cut it to a one possession game in the third, the Wolves went on a 7-0 run to create separation. The Wolves pushed their lead to double digits and led 50-37 going into the final quarter.

Keuka College closed it out with another impressive shooting quarter. The Wolves shot 53.8% from the floor in the final quarter. At the other end of the floor, Keuka held Cobleskill to 3-13 as the Wolves continued onto the 66-47 conference victory.

Then Keuka swept Penn St.-Harrisburg and the Wolves will look to sweep SUNY Cobleskill at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center on Wednesday.
