KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Women's Basketball team outscored SUNY Cobleskill 43-20 in the second half as the Wolves defeated the Fighting Tigers 71-46 on Saturday at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center.
With the win, Keuka College (16-5, 11-3 NEAC) clinches a home game in the first round of the North Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament.
Keuka College 71 vs. SUNY Cobleskill 46
SUNY Cobleskill took the lead early against the Wolves. They had five steals in the first quarter and forced seven turnovers. The Fighting Tigers scored 10 points off of Keuka College turnovers and led 18-14 after the opening quarter.
In the second quarter, the Wolves worked through forward Amanda Wood. The freshman had six points in the frame and three rebounds for the Wolves. The Green and Gold stepped up their defense, holding SUNY Cobleskill to just 23.5% from the floor. Keuka outscored SUNY Cobleskill 14-8 in the second quarter and held a 28-26 lead at the half.
Reighly Melochick hit her first two three-pointers of the half as the Wolves built their lead. The lead was pushed to double-digits on a pair of free throws by Sarah Tyler as Keuka took a 46-35 lead. Once again, the defense for the Wolves loomed large as the Fighting Tigers shot just 22.2% from the floor. Keuka led 46-35 going into the fourth quarter.
The Green and Gold closed it out in the fourth. They shot a game-high 50% from the floor and outscored SUNY Cobleskill 25-11 in the quarter on their way to the 71-46 North Eastern Athletic Conference North Division victory.

- With 11 threes in the game, Keuka College now has 143 on the season. They are tied with the 2008-09 team for fourth most in program history
- The Wolves had nine blocks in the game, tying them for the fifth most in a game in Keuka College history. Jariah Johnson led the effort with a career-high four blocks
Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves have two more games to close the regular season. Keuka College will travel to Williamsport, Pa. to face Penn College on Wednesday. The Wolves will then return home on Saturday, February 17 to close the regular season against Cazenovia College.
