Keuka College Basketball to Play in HCS Classic

KEUKA PARK, N.Y.— The Keuka College Men's and Women's Basketball teams will face Nazareth College in the Inaugural Heritage Christian Services Classic, presented by Tompkins Bank of Castile.

The Wolves will face the Golden Flyers on Saturday, November 18 at the Kidera Gymnasium at the Shults Center on the campus of Nazareth College in Pittsford, N.Y. The women will tip at 1pm with the men's game following around 3pm.

Admission for the doubleheader is $5 will all proceeds benefiting the Heritage Christian Services Employment Alliance. Tickets can be purchased at the door or at https://www.keuka.edu/event/hcs-classic

The Keuka College Women's Basketball team is coming off of a 14-10 season and a trip to the North Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament last season. The Wolves will open their 2017-18 season at home on Wednesday, November 15 against D'Youville College prior to facing the Golden Flyers.

Nazareth College posted a 11-14 record on the women's side last season, falling just short of the Empire 8 Tournament. The Golden Flyers and Keuka College last faced each other in the 2012-13 season. It was a back and forth game with Keuka leading at the half. Nazareth rallied to take the lead back, but Keuka College tied the game with a three-point play with 1:16 left to play. Nazareth College took the lead back in the final minute to defeat Keuka 58-55. Nazareth College leads the all-time series with Keuka College 17-8, dating back to the 1974-75 season.

The Wolves Men's Basketball team finished the season with a 5-18 record with all five wins coming within the North Eastern Athletic Conference. The Green and Gold will have a wealth of experience on this year's teams as they return four starters and six of their top seven scorers from last season. Keuka College will begin their season at home on Wednesday, November 15, facing Elmira College at 6pm at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center.

The Nazareth College Men's Basketball team fell in the Empire 8 Semi-Finals last season to cross-town rivals St. John Fisher College. The Golden Flyers finished the campaign with a 15-11 record overall. Keuka and the Golden Flyers will renew a 23 game series that was last played in the 2009-10 season. Nazareth College leads the series 17-6. In their last meeting, Keuka College led by seven at the half, but Nazareth College outscored the then Storm 39-25 in the second half on their way to the 72-65 victory.
