MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Keuka College Women's Basketball team lost to hosts Morrisville State College 66-49 on Tuesday in the First Round of the North Eastern Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Tournament.
Keuka College finishes the 2016-17 season with a 14-10 record overall. They posted an 11-7 record within the North Eastern Athletic Conference to finish third in the North Division.
Stuart finished her Keuka College career eighth on the all-time scoring list with 1,063 career points.
Morrisville State got out to an early lead over the Wolves, but Keuka came back. A layup by Lauren Anten tied the game for the Green and Gold and Keuka later took the lead on a pair of Anten free throws. The Mustangs retook the lead. Keuka College closed the quarter with four straight points, but Keuka trailed 13-12 after the first quarter.
After shooting just 27% from the floor in the first quarter, Keuka College's woes continued in the second. The Wolves went just 2-10 from the field. On the other end, Morrisville shot 46% and outscored Keuka College 15-5 in the quarter. The Mustangs led 28-17 at the half.
Lauren Anten knocked down a three for the Wolves to start the third quarter as Keuka College quickly cut into the lead. However Morrisville State pushed the lead back to double-digits. The Wolves were able to trim the lead down to six points, 35-29, following a Niki Templeton free throw, but the Mustangs scored nine of the final 13 points in the third. They reestablished their double-digit lead. Morrisville State led Keuka College 44-33 after three quarters of play.
The Mustangs put the game away in the fourth quarter. Morrisville scored nine unanswered points midway through the quarter to push the lead to 18 points. The Mustangs would close it out and defeat Keuka College 66-49.
