WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Keuka College Women's Basketball team defeated host Penn College 74-54 on Sunday in a North Eastern Athletic Conference matchup.
Keuka College (6-15, 5-10 NEAC) will remain on the road on Wednesday as they travel to Cazenovia College.
Penn College made their first shot, a three pointer eight seconds in, for the early lead. Keuka responded and took the lead on a three by Katie Stuart. The Wildcats would take the lead back later in the quarter, but a three by Courtney Boyea gave Keuka the lead 14-13 with just under three minutes left in the quarter. Keuka would lead 21-16 after the first quarter.
The Wildcats opened the second on a 5-0 run to tie the game. They would later take the lead from the free throw line, 25-23 with 6:28 left in the half. The lead would bounce back and forth. Keuka took the lead on a pair of baskets by Stuart, but the Wildcats took it right back. A three by Boyea made it 32-30, Kueka with just over a minute left in the half. It would prove to be the final lead of the game for Penn and the Green and Gold led 34-30 at halftime.
Keuka used a 10-0 run in the third quarter to push their lead to double-digits. The Wildcats worked the lead back down, but threes by Mackenzie Cole and Lauren Anten gave Keuka a 54-45 lead with 10 minutes left to play.
An 8-0 run by Keuka pushed the margin back out to start the fourth quarter. A layup by Boyea gave Keuka a 21-point lead, its largest of the game. The Green and Gold would continue onto a 74-54 victory.
