MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Keuka College Women's Basketball fell at Morrisville State College 59-41 on Saturday afternoon.
Keuka College (3-13, 2-8 NEAC) will be back at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center next weekend when they host Gallaudet University and Wilson College.
Morrisville State got off to a fast 8-0 lead over Keuka on Saturday. Lauren Anten and Courtney Boyea hit back-to-back threes and Katie Stuart made a basket for Keuka's own 8-0 run to tie the game. Over the final two minutes of the quarter, Morrisville went on a 9-0 run to lead 24-12 after the first quarter.
The Mustangs held Keuka scoreless in the second quarter for the opening four minutes while growing their lead to 31-12. Morrisville State led 35-18 at the break.
The Green and Gold attempted to stay in the game in the third quarter. They went on an 8-2 run, capped by a Boyea three, to make it a 39-26 game halfway through the third. The Mustangs responded and a three pointer in the dying seconds would put Morrisville ahead 46-28 after 30 minutes of action.
The teams traded baskets for most of the fourth quarter. Keuka was able to narrow the margin at times, but they were never able to get it within striking distance, losing to Morrisville State 59-41.
