LANCASTER, Pa. – The Keuka College Women's Basketball team was defeated by Lancaster Bible College by the score of 62-48 on Thursday evening in a North Eastern Athletic Conference matchup.
Keuka College (2-11, 1-7 NEAC) will be back in action tomorrow as they play at Penn St.-Berks.
Samantha Blum got Keuka on the board first and the Green and followed that up with a backdoor layup by Katie Stuart. MacKenzie Cole received a kickout pass following and offensive rebound and hit a three pointer to make it 11-5. Lauren Anten followed that up with a three pointer of her own and Keuka held a 14-5 lead. The Chargers responded with a 13-0 run to end the first quarter to take an 18-14 lead in the game.
The Chargers continued their run, scoring the first seven points of the second quarter. Lauren Anten hit a jumper with just under five minutes left in the half to snap the run. Overall, it was a 20-0 run for Lancaster Bible. The Chargers led 32-18 at the halftime break.
Keuka came out of the halftime break shooting well. They shot 70% from the field and 75% from three point territory in the period. They were able to narrow the margin down to 10 points following a three pointer and jump shot by Lauren Anten to make it 38-28 with six minutes left in the quarter. The Chargers would pull back away, however, and lead 54-37 following thirty minutes of play.
The Green and Gold outscored Lancaster Bible 11-8 in the fourth quarter to reduce the margin, but it was not enough as the Chargers would defeat Keuka 62-48.
