KEUKA PARK, N.Y. -- The Keuka College Women's Basketball fell at home on Thursday night to St. Lawrence by the score of 49-27 at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center.
Keuka College (0-3) will remain at home next week, as they host Alfred University on Tuesday, November 24 at 8pm.
Katie Stuart had a team-high six points for Keuka, who shot 17.8% from the floor as a team. Lauren Anten led Keuka with 7 rebounds in the loss. She added five points. Samantha Blum added six rebounds for Keuka.
St. Lawrence was able to take advantage of Keuka turnovers. They forced 17 errors that led to 15 Saints points. Keuka was only able to turn St. Lawrence's 12 turnovers into four points.
The Saints made their first two three-pointers of the game and jumped out to an early lead. Meghan Ideman drained a three for Keuka to bring the score back to 7-4. St. Lawrence would lead after one, however, 9-6 in a low scoring quarter that had both teams make just a pair of field goals.
St. Lawrence scored the first four points of the quarter to grow a seven point lead, but Keuka would rally. Sarah Janson made a pair of free throws with 3:32 left in the half to tie the game at 14-14. The Saints would outscore Keuka 6-2 over those final three minutes though and carry a 20-16 lead into halftime.
A quick three point basket by Lauren Anten narrowed the margin to one just seconds into the third quarter. St. Lawrence would respond with a 13-0 run that created a double-digit margin over Keuka, who trailed 38-23 after three periods of play.
Keuka was able to get just a three pointer from Stuart and a free throw in the final quarter as St. Lawrence continued onto the 49-27 victory.
