Blum, Stuart Sparks Women's Hoops Past Cobleskill

Sophomore Katie Stuart (Tupper Lake, N.Y./Tupper Lake) matched her career-high with 18 points to power the Keuka College women's basketball team to a 56-36 win over SUNY Cobleskill Saturday in the regular-season finale.

Classmate Samantha Blum (Niskayuna, N.Y./Colonie) snared a career-high 10 rebounds with four points, while senior Brittany Hadley (Jasper, N.Y./Jasper-Troupsburg) recorded nine points with seven rebounds as the Wolfpack (9-14, 8-10 NEAC) completed the season sweep of Cobleskill (2-21, 1-17).

Senior Amanda Kubitz (Spencerport, N.Y./E.J. Wilson) added 6 points with 6 assists, 6 rebounds and 3 steals, and classmate Erica Pendrak (New York Mills, N.Y./New York Mills) capped her Keuka career with five points and three assists in the loss.

Sophomore Tally McDonald (Romulus, N.Y./Romulus) added five points with five rebounds, while junior Mackenzie Cole (Ogdensburg, N.Y./Ogdensburg Free Academy) had 4 points with 3 rebounds and 3 assists for Keuka.

The Green and Gold held Cobleskill scoreless for the first 7:17, but the contest was knotted at four until Pendrak made a '3' to fuel a 9-0 Keuka run as the Wolfpack led 13-4 after a layup from McDonald with 7:44 remaining in the opening stanza.

Leading 15-9, Stuart scored eight straight points, including a pair of '3s', and Blum made a layup for a 25-11 with 28 seconds left in the first.

Keuka took a 25-14 lead into halftime and led by at least 10 points for the remainder of the contest.

After Cobleskill pulled within 37-27 on a jumper from Tracy Anderson, Kubitz hit a triple, and Hadley and Pendrak each made layups to put the Wolfpack up 44-27 with 10:17 remaining.

Following a layup from Cassie Beaver, Keuka went on a clinching 7-0 run as Blum hit a jumper, Cole made a layup and Kubitz drained a '3' for a 51-29 lead with 4:17 to play.

Keuka enjoyed a 48-33 edge rebounding.
